This is a little different because I wanted to try a pattern on a piece of my favorite material - Milky Chalcedony

That's a beauty, Bob! What are the dimensions of that cab?

That's cool Bob. It looks like a jar full of bubbles, with one of them highlighted, in the middle. Pretty neat.
Thanks for showing it, Patty

Wow, this is wild! It reminds me of a fish egg, I guess that of Blinky, the 3 eyed fish on the Simpsons. But with all due respect, this is just unbelievable, fantastic work.

Very cool Bob.👍Some day I’ll try this, the designs on the back of translucent material. Is the center piece separate and intarsia or inlaid? Maybe I just need to go grab the magazine!

The centerpiece is a half-dome cab of rhodochrosite recessed into the milky chalcedony by 1.5 mm. I do this to give it more durability than just gluing it onto a flat surface.

Very cool! I understand how much work went into this. I'm not familiar with the milky Chalcedony though.
