Mornin’ ☕️ I saw a video of someone soaking their newly rockhounded finds in BKF water to clean them so I googled and found people use BKF at every stage in tumbling from adding it to grit to replacing borax stage with BKF. Just sprinkling’ that shit on everything like some Frank’s Redhot. However I’ve not seen it mentioned in here. So is it legit? I use it regularly for cleaning, putting the shine back in my grandma’s pot and pans. But is it helpful in any way in relation to rocks? Yes/No? Please explain and thank you in advance

I have never heard of using BKF for anything tumbling related... Thanks for the question and I look forward to seeing what responses come up here from the more experienced people on this forum!

Oxilic Acid is the main ingredient. It is not recommended to use on granite or marble. I have never heard of anyone using it in place of Borax. I would think it would be ok on most rocks, but I would worry about my barrels.

As in breaking down the rubber or exploding from pressure? I think they were using a vib. I will try to find it again and link it.
