I'm trying to create a running thread without it being to cumbersome. I think initially there will be a lot of content, but on update posts I would like to link to sections of my original post?
Does that make sense?
I'm going to keep a running picture log, but it would be nice to update the "original" post instead of having 50 different response or update posts that are out of place.
Is there a way to to kind of update the original post while somehow tying back to it?

If I understand correctly, you are going to make a table of content on the first post of a thread. Yeah I think you can create links to your post by clicking the gear button on the right-top corner of each post, and click "Link to post", and there are two kinds of links "Link to this post in this thread:" and "Link to only this post:" that you can try out to see what makes most sense to you.

Check out this post...
Does it update? YES
pebblesky Ok, so basically I need to create multiple posts for each rock? and then constantly link back to them?
It would be nice if there were a way to kind of hide the initial posts because I'm just going to flood the forum with my pictures...which is what I'm trying to avoid.
Ok to view them as needed but not hijack the entire website.

I might misunderstand what you wanted. You want your later posts to link to the first post in the same thread? With the quality of your pictures I don't think having your posts flood the forum is a bad idea
