Anyone else venture into the wildreness to collect their Christmas Tree ?
Tom and I have a long tradition of never paying for our tree & cutting something that grows wild locally.
Here in NW Florida we cut Loblolly or Slash Pines out in the Water Management lands.
We help make a clearing for the wildlife .
So many trees to choose from :
I think that one :
Yup, time to break out the folding saw:
BUT, will it actually be too big to fit in the living room We shall see on Sunday !

Oh yeah, some of those look real promising. Glad you made it out. Have fun trimming the tree.

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas.
I thought I'd follow up and show you that Free Range trees look pretty nice all decorated up. Not the traditional triangle shape - but we're not necessarily traditional.
Thanks for looking, Patty

Very nice and festive! I literally cannot remember the last time I had a real Christmas Tree but I still miss the smell. When my kids who are 29 and 30 now were young toddlers they had asthma and we abandoned our joy of cutting our own tree and switched to plastic They quickly outgrew any issues but many years and a divorce and living alone for ten years blah blah blah. Nowadays, Eva and I are weirdly similar in the sense that neither one of us have much desire to decorate our own living space but we do enjoy experiencing what others have done. I think we've had one tree in the ten years we've been married

I get it Tommy - There's usually a BRIEF moment, when I hesitate to get the extension ladder that's needed to get the decorations down from the "attic". But then it passes, & all is well. For me, it's going & cutting it first, that puts me in the mood/season. You do remind us of another bonus, of us not having children - No one to please but ourselves...... Happy New Year, Patty.... Picturing Tommy & Eva driving around, looking at other people's lights.
