Hi Something has gone wrong and the vise is barely being pushed along the feed rod. I thought maybe it was the gear box motor do I bought a new one but it still is doing the same thing. Then I noticed a spring dangling off the back of the vise (on the bottom). When I look at the parts illustrated list, I see a spring located under the "half nut" part that the rod sits on. Also the lever has no tension to it so I'm thinking that the spring came off and ended up in the back? Any ideas about how and where the spring is attached under the feed rod? Thanks!

The spring on the ls10 went from the split screw arm to a brass slack adjustment bolt if I remember correctly. The HP Lapidary saw is still pretty much a direct copy, see
I've helped more than a few saws who's bolts have fallen out into the primordial soup, good to have a tight stopper nut on that. good luck.
