I have always wanted to see a meteorite storm. Closest I came was driving across South Dakota in August of 1977 in the middle of the night. Not sure you would call it a storm but it was one after another.

Fun story from this morning. We had strong upper level clouds. You could see the moon, but it wasn't good enough for imaging.
Suddenly I saw a meteor heading to the south east. Tracing it back, it was an eta aquarid

Tracing it back, it was an eta aquarid I'm envious. We had cloudless skies and I was awake at the perfect meteor viewing time, right when the meteors were supposed to be above the horizon in the hours before dawn. But the hill was in the way. By the time they were above the hill, it would have been light. None of this mattered because it was so cold we had a thick fog. And the cold makes my metal spine start electrocuting me. So no meteors were seen
