Shameless brag post! I got this machine from a guy in Western Kansas back in the Summer. I've just now gotten around to re-working the watering system. It's my first time working with expanding drums. Getting the first belt on was a bit of a challenge. (Turns out I needed to take the old one off first.) The extra work-space between wheels was great for this business-card holder. looking forward to more projects with it. My whole face (minus the part where the safety glasses covered) feels a little gritty now though!

Cool machine! Hope it makes you more productive. On my birthday last year, we started rebuilding an old Spartan drop saw that we had acquired from an estate sale at least 10 years ago. Then life happened and it has just sat. My birthday is coming up again in... 3 weeks. Maybe we will finish it this year! :-)

Love the amount of real estate offered by an expanding drum! I have an 8 inch that's not set up right now and I really miss it sometimes. I ordered a set of diamond belts from China for a pretty decent price. With those you can go all the way to 3000 grit and beyond if you wish.

nice! Mind me asking what merchant you used? I'd love to get some diamond belts instead of sic. I'm gonna use this guy for a while, so might as well get what I'd rather use.
