Hello. Last year I refurbished a Fran Tom combination 10 inch saw and 8 inch cabbing wheels. The motor finally started smoking, so I purchased a new 1/2 HP 1725 RPM unit. What would be the ideal RPM's to run this saw and the 8 inch diamond wheels. So my question also would be what size would be the ideal pulleys to use. The multi sized pulley on the old engine looks like I used the 3 inch. The new motor is a larger shaft size so I cant use the old pulley. What say ye, and thanks for any info.

If it were my machine I would verify the old motor also ran at 1725 then buy a stepped pulley just like the one on the old motor.
There's others on here with more knowledge of these machines but I think the saw was probably ran at a different speed than the wheels hence the stepped pulley.

The motor ran at 1725. I had a stepped pulley but was set to run on the 3 inch and also 3 inch on the saw and cabbing wheel shaft. Thanks for your input.
