Hi there- I bought a used Diamond Pacific mini-sonic MT-4 and ran it several weeks with no problems. Today it just… stopped. Nothing whatsoever happens when I turn the knob on and off.
I know these things are supposed to be very sturdy and I’m hopeful that it can be fixed, but I’m not a mechanically-inclined person (lol!) and I have no idea where to start. And there is hardly any information out there about this machine. I’m going to email Diamond Pacific but wanted to ask you knowledgeable folks for any insight or tips. TIA!

Check the obvious. Power to the plug, power cord going to the transformer still wired up. All wires connected to something, all nuts and bolts tight (and present). Not really a lot that can go wrong with these machines. Double check that the metal springs are attached as well.

There is a diagram in the owners manual. Lots of nuts so I would check all of those along with the electrical connections.

The others pretty much said this already but if the device is plugged into a power strip with surge protector check if the button (breaker) on the strip is tripped. Easy enough to test, just press the reset button on the strip or plug a lamp or something else into the strip and see if there is power present.

I have a old MT-4 that just quit one day too. It has sat on the shelf for years. I just never got around to troubleshooting it. Some good advice here. I'll have to take it apart and document the whole way and see if it is something as simple as a loose connection.

Just a thought on these as well. The speed dial is a simple potentiometer and can be replaced for very cheap. They are pretty simple to change out if you can do basic soldering (a soldering iron is like $20). If you search Amazon you will find all kinds of options.
