Does anyone know if the Slab'asaurus is still available? I've tried contacting them through their Facebook page a couple of weeks ago and still have gotten no response.

Looks like they are out of bend oregon. I live very close by. If I could find out where they are located, I might be able to find time to swing by

One of our members here, @currentlyrockhoundin , did a review of the device on his YouTube channel, and he mentioned that the owner reached out to him to do a review of it. As such, maybe the member has an inside track on how to get ahold of the Slabasauras owner, Nick Braun, in a manner other than FB. Good luck.

I was hoping that maybe he'd be in Quartzsite.

I can't help with availability question, but I'd advise to keep trying the FB page. He did post that he was having some type of issues with it last month that kept him offline. Maybe things still aren't up to speed. It appears that the owner is around, as he posted on his personal FB page a few hours ago. Maybe give messaging there a shot? www.facebook.com/NicholasC.Braun?comment_id=Y29tbWVudDo0ODgyMTQwMDAxODY3NDM2XzEzNTAxMjIzMjI0ODY4Mjg%3D

I’ve been seeing all these contraptions for slabs saw’s lately. I’m getting to the point where I’m going to design/make one that will be the be all/end all of all these devices.

Funny you say that, because I was literally sitting down looking into how I can incorporate the material I want to use, into a clamping mechanism.

Please update should the time come. I sent my message to him yesterday afternoon and got a very positive response from Nick last evening. He has no stock available right now, but expects to, probably mid- February. This is the link to the reservation form to order: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdD1E_lnM8uhAGqg0wWJqtL5XtHuNDANqO3SijRk2vR4GkRGQ/viewform.

I am not in the market for one, but I was simply curious. The info you shared will probably be helpful to others, so thanks for passing that along.

Our own catmandewe Tony used to make grabbers, not as elaborate as that, but steel rather than aluminum and will do the same job. Maybe he still does. When the maker says you need to buy 4 $0.75 cent customized bolts from them for $15.00 to prevent damage to the unit, I think maybe the design isn't ready for production yet.

Hubby found me two slab grabbers for my 10" drop saw. A smaller one and a large one. We've used the smaller one already with great success. Makes getting slabs out of smaller, oddly shaped rocks much easier. I'll have to share a pic the next time we use it.
