Hello fellow tumblers! Thank you all for the great information from your experience with the art, science, and your love of rocks! I've now tumbled into the rabbit hole of this community, appropriately, as I've become a bit obsessed with the craft. The next toy I'd like to add is the Diamond Pacific Mini-Sonic Vibe. It'll join my rotaries and Dremel tools. If you know anyone selling theirs, please let me know! Also, if you'd like to dissuade me away from or persuade me towards another vibe of your choice, I'm all ears! I just sold my wet polisher as I found those funds would be much more effectively put into a vibe. My 15lb and dual 3lb rotaries are chugging away in 60/90 that sturdy jasper. In a couple months I've only gotten a tiny, quarter full sandwich bag of stones who's shape I've been happy enough with to move on, I've got a stack of rough in the queue, so at this rate I'm thinking a small vibe will be my friend. If I end up with enough big rocks that shape out enough to polish I'm thinking I'll collect those and put em through a rotary polish cycle when I've got enough. Thank you again for your passion, camaraderie, and knowledge! I'm very grateful that you all are doing what you do, and that you are gracious enough to share with us. Sincerely, goodsgems

Welcome from Central California! Nice tumbles! I love my Minisonic. Thank you for the recommendation! Do you think the Minisonic would work for tumbling a larger piece like the stone on the third picture on my post? It's pretty flat and about 3" X 2 1/2"

Welcome to the forum from South Dakota! OMG! That second shot of that Morgan Hill piece is a stunner!! Aw, thank you! I'm in love with the Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper. Such a diverse rock, patterned like it's straight out of the 60's.

Do you think the Minisonic would work for tumbling a larger piece like the stone on the third picture on my post? It's pretty flat and about 3" X 2 1/2" Maybe. I put oversized rocks in mine. The only issue is sometimes they can cause a jam, where the rocks just kind of lock together inside. I've never had a huge issue with that. You just lose a little time when they aren't moving. I rap my hand firmly on the side of the barrel and that usually gets them moving. That being said, I think if you put a large rock with a bunch of ceramics or pea gravel it wouldn't have anything to jam up with.

Welcome to the forum from NE Ohio. I also have a mini sonic and I love it! I traded in my Lot-o for the mini and I'm much happier with how it works. I do have issues on occasion with larger rocks jamming, but I keep my eye on the machine while it's running and try to limit the sizes I put in there. Maybe one larger with a mix of small/medium. Good luck with your progress!

Welcome from Austin,Tx. Nice shapes and great polish. I shape on a flat and use an old UV-18 vibe for polish. This vibe takes a lot of material to operate correctly.
