I have had several of these running 24/7 for almost the last decade. Can't think of any way to break a belt using them even if I purposefully tried, unless the belt was defective.

Sorry it's taken me some time to get around to a comparison video, but I'm posting this here before I forget. It may need some more time before it finishes processing by YouTube, but if I were to guess, like others I would say it's to do with belt alignment. Yours sounds normal while unloaded. rydersrocks Thank you so much! By the way that is a very good camera you got there. I just got a new belt in the mail today. I recorded a video but of course with my luck it won't upload. I'm trying hard to get it up though. All the belts are orange. I talked with lortone and they are sending me 2 new pulleys and 2 new olds style belts. I think the material of the orange belts is too rigid. It needs to be a softer rubber, that can bend more. iamchris, you and everyone else have been a huge help. Sorry that I do not have the video up yet. Another problem is I don't have a phone so I have to borrow someone else's. I'm looking to get a better camera as well. So far, with this new belt, it sounds very optimistic. Hopefully I don not wake up and it's motionless . Well only time will tell. I will post updates tomorrow morning and after noon. - Ryder Smith

Alright well I have new pulleys and old style belts on their way. I'm going to be hopeful that this works. Fingers crossed.

Wow! Just unbelievable. I sure hope you're not having to pay for all the parts and shipping. It's frustrating to watch this from the sidelines, I'd be really PO'd if it was my purchase. It looks like the pulleys and belts are segmented, hopefully the replacements are smooth and can use an "O" ring. Cheering for you in hopes you're up and running soon.

For this belt that broke I did pay for it . For these new parts on their way I did not pay for them. Yea, It would be a lot easier to fix this is someone else was actually with me in person lol . Trust me, Im very upset but I'm just gonna hope these new parts work. Yea the belt needs to be made of a rubber similar to something you would find in an engine. Not some stiff belt that has trouble to even make a turn. Thank you for your help by the way, Im also cheering myself on to try and figure out the problem(yahoo) . - Ryder Smith

The belts don't need to be that tight You can also buy a spray Belt Dressing that will give them more grip on the pulleys
