Beautiful work, Jason!
You got a great polish on that Rolling Hills Dolomite.
I absolutely love the Fairburn!

Nice. I'm working some of that Mexican Cave Onyx (calcium carbonate) and I am literally watching it disappear on the 280 soft! I started at the 220 hard, and should have started it on the 600!

Beautiful work, Jason! You got a great polish on that Rolling Hills Dolomite. I absolutely love the Fairburn! Thank you my friend! I'm thinking I'm going to give that one to my neighbor....after it's wrapped...so maybe in a year or two! LOL *Hopefully kidding on the time-frame part! LOL Love them all but the Fairburn is really stunning! Thanks Chris! It's really cool to see the amount of depth in the center area of the fortification! I like the round rolly doley myself. Niceeeee Thanks Paul! I just wish that sonofagun hadn't had a fracture show up out of the blue! Arghhh... More jaw dropping work from Jason! Love the rolling hills. It's some of the best. Thanks Tela! When I was pondering the auction, I looked at a bunch of cabs online. I didn't see many with any kind of a polish...so I wasn't expecting anything past a matte finish. Surprise surprise! Thanks Thomas! Every one of these was "fun" to work on the wheels! Nice. I'm working some of that Mexican Cave Onyx (calcium carbonate) and I am literally watching it disappear on the 280 soft! I started at the 220 hard, and should have started it on the 600! Thanks Stefan! Yeah...by all rights, I should have started on the 600...but wanted to roll the dice to see how my control was doing. I may have just gotten lucky! LOL Beeeeeaauuuuuutttttiiiiifffffuuuullll!!!!! Thanks John! That "odd shaped" Crazy Laze is one of my top favorite cabs I've done. There's SO much I like about that entire piece.

Nice work Jason, I really like that first Rolling Hills pattern. I've never had any of that material but I have thought about buying it before. All the Agates look great too, always a fan of the crazy lace. I have about 50 Lbs. of Kona Dolomite rough that I have started slabbing. I've probably made a dozen cabs and some wine stoppers from it. I normally start on the 220 wheel when shaping and doming, and then quickly move thru the soft wheels to 3000. Wonder if the Rolling Hills is similar in hardness. The Kona gets a pretty nice shine, not like a Jasper, but still nice.

Would love to see pics of that! (Hint! LOL) Yeah...there's NO reason I should have started on the 80 grit...other than wanting to put myself to the "control" test. This could have very easily started on the 280 soft...or the 600 with a little bit of time. I imagine it's gotta be similar in hardness to the Kona. The only other Dolomite I've worked is Pinolith (Pinolite) - which is made up of Dolomite and "friends"...and it's just as soft as the Rolling Hills.

Wood came out pretty nice. I was curious to see how that would look cabed. Obviously I’m partial to the Carey, that came out Tits!!

I had the saws out yesterday and ALMOST cut another slice of that Carey while I was cutting. Instead, I tried to cut a thin slice of "something" for the dang contest this month! LOL I did have another pet wood on dop. Ground the initial shape...and that one was just inundated with pitting...so it didn't get worked past the 80 grit. I think these two came out pretty good though.
