Have a couple in the shop missing big chunks of rubber from the outside edges. I'm guessing this is due to them drying out due to age. I'd hate to throw them away so wanted to see if there was any way to simply replace the rubber, or repurpose them.
Because of how they expand I'm assuming not, but maybe someone has found a creative solution.

They must be really old or left in the sun, I have some 20-30 years old and they are in good shape. I would not try to repair them since it might be dangerous to spin them.
