Greetings rock nerds...
(Understand that's the highest compliment I could make in my esteem)
Please allow me to get many things out of the way simultaneously.
I am Freshman...ish, but qualified finally to speak amongst a pretty intimidating group.
Any skill I have gained I attribute to learning everything I can about every angle I can and this forum has made that possible.
I use vintage gear, and DIY absolutely everything. Apparently I'm mechanically inclined, which I didn't know before I picked up this beast of a hobby. A year or so in and I'm not scared of much. I'm using my own pads, wax, refinishing wheels and I've got polish secrets using homemade nanotech that'll cause riots when they get to market. Found out after picking up this jazz that I have it in my blood in crazy ways, but that's another story.
Bottom line, this group of wonderful people has changed my life and I'm profoundly grateful.
Kind of waited to say hello until the work was top notch but maybe some could understand...we never really get there in our own eyes.
So hello...😅
I'd like to pose a question to anyone that's gone down this road with Hi-Tech.
I bought an 8" all you need recently. Got it new for a "steal" and It's the only gear I own that isn't actually made of steel. Really I just intended to use it for getting decent flats on rough and polish duties. Less than 50 hrs in and I'm getting intermittent power to the motor. I spoke with customer service, they were very nice but kind of unhelpful. Not their fault really. It's a 2021 model so after opening up the sucker the only parts involved are the speed control, the motor and the wiring in between. It's spotless inside. All the wiring seems solidly connected. I need this guy operating yesterday so what's my first angle of attack before actually ordering a new speed controller?
Sorry for writing a novel, but I just knew this situation was better attacked here than with hours of research on things I rather develop organically.
Thanks for the bruises... and you can keep the stool samples.
