Greetings fellow rock hounds! I have spent many years rock hounding based in the Boise area in Idaho and rock hounding in primarily Idaho, Oregon, and Nevada. In 2017 I moved to Virginia and haven't had much of a chance to look for rocks here. Seems like they primarily look for fossils here. A little disappointing after moving from the Gem state. Research looks like North Carolina may be the place to go? There doesn't seem to be a gem and mineral society less than and hour plus from where I live.

Welcome from California. We have lots of rocks here, too.

Welcome from Rochester! Pat caver! Something that unsettles me quite a bit - exploration of caves. My mind always goes to John Jones and the Nutty Putty Cave. No thank you, unsubscribe.
