I know this has been hashed and rehashed to no end. I did not want to hijack rocknewb101 thread so here we are. I have always used continuous rim blades on my 12inch saw and have always sharpened it by swedging with a file. I might try a hammer one time as someone mentioned. Anyway, I read or heard somewhere pretty recently that they used a roller bearing to sharpen their blade while it's running. Has anybody here tried this or heard of it? If it was clamped securely and squared up with the blade would you get the same results just bumping it up against the blade (not forgetting to turn off the feed motor haha). If this is a laughing matter well...............have at it as long as I learn something.
