++2 on the Chrome Chalcedony, beautiful ! Hope you're able to figure out plumbing to stay at it. How about a very long hose that you can buy fittings to attach to a sink. Nicer than hauling & you can turn on the hot tap ! Heck, if you put a pump in your bucket, maybe you could just pump it back or out the window. Patty Thanks Patty. Yes, I plan to do pretty much what you suggest on the plumbing. I'll tap into the house's water lines, put in a mixer valve, and run a line directly to the Genie. And I'll pump the waste water through the wall into a window well which has a French drain. I'm not spry enough to do it all myself these days but finding someone to do it for a reasonable price has been a challenge. Also I've been ill most of the past year with one thing after another. Hopefully I'll get it all together this spring. Meanwhile my redneck system will have to do.

Very nice cabs! Congratulations on getting your water set up together. As long as it works, that's what matters 👍 Thanks Nate. I agree that making it work is the most important thing. So many rocks, so little time!

Beautiful cabs, Rick! I'm happy to see you finally got some cabs cut. That seam agate is stunning! It's like flames in water. I'll have to see how you rigged the water when I come over for mushroom soup fest! Mushroom soup fest??? Ok, where is my festival invitation? Hmmmm. Must have got lost in the mail, right? Lol Nice cabs Rick. Glad you got back to the wheels.

I promised Rick and his wife that I would make some and bring it over for them. I made it when they moved here from CA and they stayed at my house for a couple of days and they really liked it. I have to do it this week because I'm having some oral surgery done soon and I won't be able to eat anything substantial for a bit. I can send you the recipe if you'd like it though. It's delish.

Well gee, all you needed to do was ask for my address. Someone else cooking is a treat but i suppose I could make it myself if i have to...;-) Sounds yummy. Please do send the recipe.

It’s good to see that you’re cabbing again. Those turned out really nice. I’ve always loved imperial jasper and yours turned out beautiful. That mtorolite is very attractive too.
Thanks for sharing your work.

Been noodling around with a few more. I did some experimenting today with various techniques I've been thinking about and spied a hunk of Snowiville variscite I've had for a very long time. Since I had the machine running I decided to work on it a little. I never thought it had much potential because it was black on both sides. Today I noticed some patterns on the side so said what the heck and started grinding. This is the surprising and, to me, lovely result: nearly 77 carats of spiderweb beauty that was hiding all this time.

Been tackling more cutting work, especially some rutilated quartz from an old stash. I worked on it with very mixed feelings: happiness at finally getting it to the wheels, and great sadness because it brought memories of my late friend Vince (hummingbirdstones2). I have ruined more good stones with the trim saw than any other way. Vince kindly took on the job of carefully trimming out some cabbing blanks from my material and he had an extremely good eye. What follows is the result. (An observation: I am totally unsuccessful at getting a personally acceptable polish on quartz using all diamond. The stones came out with a "foggy" polish even after 14K. I had to get out the Super Cerium to finally make the fog go away.) Thanks for loopking! Rutilated Oval Rutilated Half-Dome Angel’s Hair Pear Long Oval Swords Triangle Angel’s Hair I somehow left a few nice ones out - will post them later along with some variscite cabs I cut a couple of days ago. Below are some new cabs I finished along with the utilated and more to come. Mookaite Tiger’s-Eye

Rick, they are all beautiful, but the half dome is phenominal! Vince would have been proud.

Rick, I have to agree with Robin...I think Vince would have given tons of well-deserved praise on your results! LOVE those Rutilated Quartz pieces!
