In another thread I mentioned a kitchen remodel we were doing. jasoninsd asked about it and said he wanted to see before and after pictures. I'm going to hold off on the after pictures from now. The floors were being installed today and there's a lot of stuff in the way. Here's the before picture. After this is all done, we're going to work on the bathroom!

I'm excited to see the after pics!
Any specific upgrades you're particularly excited about?

For a minute I was like "Wait. What is a toilet doing in the kitchen?" Then I re-read it.

I can definitely see why you'd want to an upgrade of sorts! - I'm stoked to see the differences...and what design "motif" you went with! I'm assuming the bathroom picture was taken Wednesday morning...after Taco Tuesday! LOL

Bathroom pic was actually taken on route 66 on the way to Quartzsite. "Kitchen" is an old travel trailer on my backlot at work that I need to get rid of. As of today I've got use of a sink and a real range and oven. Microwave is installed but the electrician won't be here until tomorrow. The sink is actually the biggest deal.

I'm excited to see the after pics! Any specific upgrades you're particularly excited about? I'm pretty excited about the whole thing. We both love to cook. I guess the biggest thing is the space we have now. We opened it up a lot and there's lots of storage space. That, and having it look clean after you clean it. We had chipped and missing tile, chipped porcelain and crappy floors. We were going to put in new countertops quite a while back. I bought a new sink on Ebay. When I pulled it out of the attic the other day the receipt was in the box and it was 15 years ago. I scored good on that. It's a stainless steel American Standard sink that I paid $100 for. It goes for $750 now!

I think the best thing in my kitchen (which needs remodeling), is the exhaust fan. If you like to cook, now is the time to put that in. Get the most powerful one you can afford & one that exhausts outside.

At least I got the microwave up higher this time so it stands a chance of catching something and my vent pipe is very short. I'm an HVAC contractor. It's often ignored that the v is ventilation. If you have a tight home there can be off real issue with too large of an exhaust fan without a relief vent. It's actually pretty easy to back draft a gas water heater and pull carbon monoxide into the home. Especially if you have multiple exhausts fans running, like your dryer.

Holy cow!!
Sooo, those two photos you showed are NOT part of your home?
You will be remodeling a kitchen and a bathroom, but not those?

No it's not my house. It was just a joke. Our kitchen was bad but not quite to that point. The bathroom that it posted a picture of is probably been abandoned for 15 years

Well, since our house is anything but tight (you can ask the mice) and we don't have no stinkin' gas water heater,
we just went straight through the wall - VERY effective !

So this is the area that was the dining room right outside the kitchen. There was a window there looking into the side yard that's only good for storage. He's about 6 ft to the fence and the neighbor's patio roof. Quartz countertop and tile backsplash. We like a more subdued look!
