After being a Radiator repair man for 36 years and counting i know soldering and brazing so i all ways thought silver smithing would be a good fit but i still needed to learn the basic's what to use and what tools i might need so last year i finally got in on a class a friend was putting on and also a other project class this last weekend i sat down for two days and made three items on my own and in my own shop here is what i made Silversmith by Roy Kessell, on Flickr Silversmith by Roy Kessell, on Flickr Silversmith by Roy Kessell, on Flickr Silversmith by Roy Kessell, on Flickr Silversmith by Roy Kessell, on Flickr these two are for the class Silversmith by Roy Kessell, on Flickr Silversmith by Roy Kessell, on Flickr now to restock more silver and do more projects its been a while since i have had this much fun in the shop

Smithing and soldering are fun! You can also solder copper and make copper bezels. Nice work!

Awesome pieces roy! Looks like you've got the heat control all figured out ๐ On a side note I didn't think radiators were still repairable nowadays, too much plastic on them.

Very nice super clean work and attractive pieces. The choice of colors in the pieces work well together. Did you cut and polish the stones yourself. Thx for sharing canโt wait to see what you come up with next thx

One quick tip. Always wrap your charcoal block with binding or baling wire. Blocks are expensive and tend to crack with use and they won't break apart if bound.

Those look great. It's something I've been wanting to jump into. I have a lot of experience soldering and brazing sheet metal and copper pipes. I think my torches might be too big though. I would be thrilled to get results like you got!
