Just introducing myself as requested - my name is Jarred, my rockhounding name is Ninety-Two Mining, and I’ve begun tumbling some of my Montana material. 92 Mining refers to my favorite game, Old School Runescape, in which you need level 92 in the Mining skill to be able to mine Amethyst. We all love Amethyst! Looking forward to discussing tips and tricks. My first question to anyone reading would be, what’s your experience tumbling petrified wood? I opened up my vibratory after starting it and it dried out much, much faster than normal rocks. Guess it was a bit more absorbent somehow!

Welcome from Missouri. I haven't tumbled too much petrified wood. Been saving up the few pieces I find around here to make a big run some day. A few snuck in that I didn't realize were petrified wood. They seemed to turn out well and didn't dry out. Maybe because the rest of the load wasn't pet wood? Someone around here will know.

Welcome from California. Not a tumbler, but many superb tumblers here. Go to the HOME page, and you will see all the sections available, including tumbling.

Welcome from Northern Arizona! If you post your question on the Tumbling Board you will probably get a lot more responses on the petrified wood question. A lot of folks don't read the introductions.

Welcome to RTH ninetytwomining ! Nice to have you here! I don't have any experience with Petrified Wood yet so I can't offer any hints on that situation, sorry. Maybe drop that question in the Tumbling board and see what the experts say or use the search box to see what information comes up on Pet Wood tumbles. Anyway, nice to have you here!
