I just received this months Rock and Gem magazine, and gracing the cover is an article on fluorescence. It's fitting that it's a final article by Bob Jones who began writing for the magazine in 1971, beginning with an article on fluorescent rocks. A fitting retirement of a prolific author and pillar of the lapidary community.

Randy, growing up. Oh man, you're killing me. I have a fluorescent ruby that's kinda phallic shaped and I'll sneak it under the covers tonight with the light. I'll do my level best to entice the wife to duck under the covers for a look tonight. Wish me luck, I don't need a black eye.
