I got this pair yesterday and thought it might be fun to try and create a butterfly out of them. I figure I can trace a generic template and mark the stone. I'd have to figure out best way to cut as it'll be curvy and I only have the trim saw, but I think I could use my wheels and dremel maybe to round out the wings? Another long stone for the body and wire for the antennae? It might be a bit ambitious and not something I'd start until warmer weather. Do you think it would be ok to put the two shaped slabs and body stone into the mini and fill with ceramics to polish? Wonder if they'd hang it up. Thank you!

I've tumbled Teepee Canyon Agate slabs in the UV10, and have had them hang up...so you'd definitely want to watch the action in the mini. Cool idea by the way!

That was my worry...Maybe i'll time it for when I know I'll be home and can hawkeye them. Thanks! If it works out I think it'll be a fun way to challenge myself.

Sounds like a fun project, Peta. You could also polish the parts you can't get with the wheels with a Dremel & some diamond on felt points. It takes time, but rewarding when you're done.
