Nope. Equilateral. More challenging Does that knife sharp points or can they be rounded slightly for actual setting? I'm thinking of giving it a go.

That was what I was actually trying to find out (is an equilateral triangle still an equilateral triangle if it has rounded points) when I encountered the "Reuleaux Triangle". Never did answer about the rounded points but then I thought it would be a good way to get back at realrockhound for making me look up so many rocks and minerals that I have never heard of (which is actually a good thing for me to learn about different types of rocks). I can't tell you how many times I have raced off to Google to find out what he and others are talking about.

Standard "break edge" specs for machining are generally about 0.005" to 0.010" radius, or 0.12mm to 0.25mm for the metric folks. I find in cabs it's enough to make it a lot less delicate but still looks like a sharp edge from normal viewing distance. My entry from last years triangle contest, which was slightly narrow, not equilateral, had more like double that.

It seems to me itโd be logical for the points to be eased just enough to be safe for wrapping or setting and just not obviously radiused.

Make them as sharp as you can get them.

I sincerely apologize to everyone for my delayed responses. Life has been insanely upside down for the last several weeks...probably close to six weeks now, as it seems every time I blink my eyes, another week has gone by!!! SUPER BIG THANK YOU TO SUVA LAPIDARY!! *I have ordered from Chad in the past...everything went super smoothly! Good question! Required...I suppose not...but it would be really cool if people did, just to see how close people can get the edges. Thanks to Suva. I have ordered from them several times and always had a good experience. I have one question on the contest. Is a Reuleaux Triangle acceptable? Not gonna lie...I had to look it up! LOL I agree with Victor, I think the Reuleaux Triangle would be even harder than a "regular" one...so yeah...go for it! Very cool, thanks chad ! And thanks for the theme jasoninsd , now Iโve gotta really focus on not letting my shape morph! You and me both on that last part! LOL Chris, I also looked up the curved equilateral triangle and think this shape is actually harder to make. I'm hoping he'll actually do it! Nope. Equilateral. More challenging Does that knife sharp points or can they be rounded slightly for actual setting? I'm thinking of giving it a go. I would love to see super sharp points...but then the cabs aren't "usable" (for the most part) after the contest. So, I think it can be whatever people feel they should do...either/or... Does that knife sharp points or can they be rounded slightly for actual setting? I'm thinking of giving it a go. LOL! That was what I was actually trying to find out (is an equilateral triangle still an equilateral triangle if it has rounded points) when I encountered the "Reuleaux Triangle". I can't tell you how many times I have raced off to Google to find out what he and others are talking about. Ummm...I fully expect to be pulling up Google on just about every other thread I pull up on the forum! LOL It seems to me itโd be logical for the points to be eased just enough to be safe for wrapping or setting and just not obviously radiused. Bingo! It seems to me itโd be logical for the points to be eased just enough to be safe for wrapping or setting and just not obviously radiused. jasoninsd Sorry sorry sorry.... Hope the oleโ boy is ok and just busy working hard with the start of the busy spring season.๐ค I blinked...and now it's the 6th of the month! Sheesh!! Heโs fine. No need to worry Depends on who you ask, my friend!! LOL

Add me to the list of those who had to look up roy-low and also ask how to pronounce it I never could do triangles with flat sides, let alone sharp points and equal length sides ... I might have to sit this one out
