Spent Saturday cutting as we had some fantastic weather. I got a new batch of thundereggs from an auction and one interesting freebee that was included. Having a lot of fun with the saw. Slab of some mossy looking thunderegg with a little clear section - thinking this will look nice polished This very strange rock was one that I bid on and won - has an amethyst top and what looks kind of like a mushroom jasper bottom - but have no idea! This cool slab was the freebee included in my batch of thundereggs. Anyone have a clue? Another thunderegg slab - has a very nice window (next close up) and should polish up nicely Same as prior - close up. See some interesting inclusions in there. Hope everyone had a nice weekend and that your week goes by easily and quickly .

I meant I see some nice CABS.

Cool slabs, and fun that you are cutting them yourself! Since you had two unknowns, my understanding is that the 3rd pic is the Wave Dolomite. But, your 2nd pic… “Amethyst Mushroom”, that’s some cool stuff. I think you’ve named it right!… Until someone can give the real name.

Until I started with lapidary I'd never touched one and honestly was afraid of them. But I go out on my own all the time and other than my own mind working overtime (did I tighten it enough? Will the belt break?) I'm really comfortable with it. I love it! Amethyst Mushroom it is (for now) .

Nice job & yea, the "mushroom amethyst" is beautiful and intriguing; I've never seen anything like it. The name sure fits!! Wonder what the rough looked like?
