Something Drastic happened about 13,000 years ago. All the mega animals of North America Perished, including the Humans that made the fluted Arrow points. The Western America was covered by "the Black Mat". What did it? One theory, advanced by Allan O. Kelly, in his book "Impact Geology" is that an Asteroid crashed into the Bermuda Triangle area, tilted the earth 30 degrees on it's axis, moved the north pole to a new location, freezing the Mammoth herds that were previously in a warm area. You will have to get his book to find out what else happened

Tease! I like your astronaut picture. But what do you think about the Bermuda impact? it would explain how Methane bubbles are always coming up and sinking ships,in the air, sinking planes.

I have an open mind about it. I would rather think it was due to natural causes. I think I saw that theory on a TV show before.

Off the cuff, one asteroid impact tilting the earth by 30-degrees only 13,000-years ago seems like a stretch. The Earth is a whole lot of spinning mass to be tilted by 30-degrees by a single impact unless it was an extremely large or massive asteroid... like did happen many millions of years ago. Doesn't seem plausible to have that happen only 13,000 years ago.

I am notoriously skeptical about most theories but this one really presents some interest.
Most of the Earth is covered by water so most of the impacts happened there. The need for core drilling will help
