69Beeper sent me this a few months ago, it was the purest, whitest Quartz i'd ever seen! anyway, his note said in case i needed "some snow" this winter...well, for the most part it HASN'T snowed the entire time i was tumbling it! (hey, Jimmy, send me more next year!). it lost a lot of mass so i added some sodalite to pump up the barrel. i couldn't resist the teeth... these ran 5-6 weeks in coarse, i wanted them smooth and they started out kinda gnarly. 2 weeks in 120/120, 2 weeks in 600 and two weeks in CPP... thanks for looking! and THANKS Jimmy for sending some AL Snow! KD

Wow, that's pretty stuff! But if it's white how do you find it in Alaska? Do you poke around in the snow until you find something rock-like? I like to soldalite too! Neat contrast of really blue against the stark white. Steve

Looks really simillar to my Okanagan snow quartz. ...Too bad I can't seem to FIND it! I was supposed to do a nice write up on using fabric dye to get veins of color in it but somewhere in my last move I have misplaced my collection of finished stones. I know they have to be mixed up in a box with something else because i've torn apart every box that had my rock stuff in them & I haven't been able to find it! My jaspers & semiprecious stones are lost with them too.

Just goes to show, white rocks can be beautiful. The sodalite makes the white even whiter. I think I'm snow blind.
