I remember reading or hearing about running new ceramic media in a tumbler to soften the edges. Can someone elaborate on this? What type of tumbler, grit, length etc... Thanks

If you already have rocks tumbling in medium grit, you can add the ceramic media to that, which will wear off any hard edges. You could also run it separately from the rocks in coarse or medium grit for a few days.

You can start it Mixed with rocks in 80 grit or 220 grit then move it along with the stones to finer grits. Once I get a batch in polish I keep it to reuse it with polish. It will last a very long time in the pre-polish/polish stages. No need to run it by itself.

I mix it(new) in the first and second run in the Uv-18 vibe and when finished keep it separate as filler. Start the next cycle with new media and fill with rounded media.
