I have a sphere preform going on the 40 grit cups right now. It was made with a rock lathe and has a pretty good sized flat spot on one end. I could totally remove it, but it would make the sphere about an inch smaller. If I leave it go, it will be bigger, but have a flat spot which means no stand needed. What would you do? Leave it. You now have a stone version of the death star

Gear knob for Andre the Giant maybe. About 5 inches.

If you leave the flat spot, it will still look good and won't be rolling away.

I think I am going to leave the flat spot alone.

I’d leave it. It won’t roll off the table!
