Hi,
I have an All U Need 8" flat lap that I've been using occasionally to make cabs on. Last year, I added foam padding as that seems to be the recommended thing to avoid flat spots. I peeled the abrasive plates/pads off their acrylic base plates, then inserted the foam pads, sticking everything on with double sided tape. My problem now is that it has been really hard to get everything centered, and I now have excessive vibrations on half my grits. A few months back, making a cab made my hand numb, and then my shoulder began hurting, and it's been that way for a couple of months. Needless to say, I'm keen to get this sorted out, so asking for your expert help on how to greatly reduce vibrations! Thanks in advance!

What I did was to cut the excess off the foam/diamond pad where it leans out over the perspex/plastic base with a boxcutter, that helped a bit! The other tricks you can try is to speed up or speed down, and see if that helps, and also to try different spots on the lap, closer to the centre or further away from the centre.
