I'm pretty wiped out by cabbing all day yesterday, so I thought I would slow it down and do some soft ones. I had one of those days where everything wanted to break or fall of the dop- except these two. I worked on a Graphic Granite that Jean sent to me. It kept breaking and I only have a little piece left. But, Jean sent it to me after I expressed my interest in it after seeing hers. It has sentimental value now. Yes, a rock.
I got a ruby in fuchsite and an Indian paint stone finished. Both can be challenging, but they were fun and didn't come off the dop. If anyone knows where I can get GOOD ruby in fuchsite let me know. The stuff I'm seeing lately is ugly. I get a real kick out of doing it. The fuchsite is ridiculously soft and, of course, the ruby is hard, so it makes a fun grind.
Thanks for looking!

Well Hells Bells to the ones that didn't want to cooperate today! It sounds like Jean was having a little fun at your expense today! I have never worked Ruby in Fuchsite...but I love saying it. I doubt I'm pronouncing it correctly...but I like the way I say it! LOL

I knew as soon as jasoninsd read “a couple soft ones” he’d be the first to respond 😂

It’s pronounced F- -k it. Because after you battle the soft and hard contrasts long enough, you finally just say F it 😂

Nice ones - nothing like soft stones to slow you down.
I really like the finish on the Indian Paint stone & look forward to trying my hand delicately on some soon !
The shape of the ruby in fuchsite is interesting, simple & graceful at the same time. Nicely done.
Thanks for the show-keep 'em coming ! Patty

that looks fantastic. without much of any proper equipmentim still shaping with a grinder in a clamp tumble finishing, but I am interested in some of the softer rocks.
