Those look dangerous! I'd replace them and the saw blade. No, 3 in 1 oil isn't for bearings, the bearings were factory sealed greased bearings, if they're noisy they need to be replaced too.

The bearings aren't noisy the shaft just doesn't turn very easily.

Those are probably just chips on the wheels but it's not worth taking a chance. They have been impacted and could have fractures. Chunks coming off at that RPM is not a good thing!

The bearings aren't noisy the shaft just doesn't turn very easily. If the bearings are partially seized you still need to replace them. Most older machines need new bearings. Like I said, the original bearings are greased and sealed from the factory and are not oilable. Shaft should spin easily with motor belt disconnected, if it doesn't new bearings are in order. You can get new bearings from Grainger. I also wouldn't use new SC wheels, I'd get with the times and use diamond wheels.

I have taken the machine apart and once I got the saw blade off the bearings moved freely. The blade was hitting the side of its slot and that was preventing it from moving very well. The blade is not seriously warped or anything and I have managed to straighten it out to the point I can't see the bend when holding it.i am trying to finish straightening it by using something heavy on it while it is on a flat surface. If it doesn't help I'll replace it from Kingsley North.

I would take off the wheels and see if they ring like a new wheel when you hit it with a metal wrench. If they ring, then they are not cracked, they are just chipped. If they are just chipped test them on the grinder slow and see if the are out of balance if they are set them aside and use them for sharpening diamond wheels and saw blades. Keep in mind SiC wheels do not run as round as diamond since they do not grind even due to soft spots in the SiC. Some parts grind away faster.

i have taken it apart and the arbor spins well. i also checked the wheels and they ring but i am going to get some new ones for now but when i change to diamond wheels i am going to get 2 metal wheels and add on a 3rd wheel that is a resin wheel. so that i only have to do the side pad as my polish pad/s. just going to take my time and get the wheels i want so i can utilize the machine to my best advantage. the metal wheels i am thinking of buying will be 1 inch wide and the resin wheel 1 1/2 inches wide. think i could do that with minimal mods?. i have to reconfigure the spacing and probably get different spacers if i do.
