When I first started using a Lot-O I would use used postal rubber bands. They typically didn't last more than a couple weeks before breaking. I imagine there are much better ones you could buy but I stumbled on the idea of using the rubber bands that come with produce such as broccoli and asparagus (at least in our area groceries). They are short so you have to tie/loop 8 or 10 of them together but they are really tough and seem to last almost for ever. The first one I made lasted over a year. They will eventually streatch but you can just cut off the last one or when you are attaching it to the knob on the bottom of the bowl, you can just attach with the next to last rubber band.

When I had my lot-o I would tie 3 large rubber bands together and it seemed to work fairly well. This is a great idea though and a great way to recycle something that would normally be tossed.

I happened to have two bungee cords together with just the right length that does the trick.

I happened to have two bungee cords together with just the right length that does the trick. I think you (or someone) mentioned this before and I forgot about trying it. But now I have a large supply of tough rubber bands so will probably stick with that.

chris1956Yo Chris, I've been running my vibe with one of those rubber bands just wrapped around the base of the lid and it's held for 2 weeks. Just FYI
