** Note to self: Go hounding with Chris...pick up everything he does not!! LOL chris1956 - Your idea of taking a battery-powered Dremel is intriguing! I was thinking that would be a bit (pun intended) of work...but it might be less work than lugging the "unknowns" home and finding out they were Leaverites! I was thinking of not having to lug them home too. And it might keep me out of trouble with ranger Rick. But I am thinking people may think I am even stranger than I am if they see me grinding away on rocks on the beach. If you do this while you're grinding on the rocks, NO ONE will bother you! LOL

Were any of the rocks from that beach the "bird nest" shape? I found some like that there. I wonder if that's an indicator? It doesn't seem like shape should be important, but I suppose it's possible. Yes there were a few. I will try to remember to look at them tomorrow. My "second best" one was kind of a bird nest shape but it was broken (you can see the circlular pattern on the back unpolished photo under the good rocks pics). There were several birds nests that didn't turn out well. I think 3rd and 4th rows from top and the furthest rocks to the right on those rows were bird nest types which didn't polish well. I remember thinking the one you polished in your video looked like a birds nest. Ok, so I guess that theory is out the window. I have more rocks that I picked up there, but haven't done anything with most of them. I did have one other really nice one that I polished at the same time I did the one in the video. I was able to find a picture of the other one that I polished from that spot. I was hoping you'd find more like this one:

One bad, one so so, and the second good one. I am liking my Dremel idea better all the time.
