I sliced a piece off one of those pieces of Obsidian and worked up this rather large cab, 2.25"x1.12". Man, this stuff is nice. This is the first time I've ever done anything with obsidian, but it sure does take a nice shine. Made one more cab tonite. Thanks for looking, Ed

Isn't that stuff the coolest!! I see yours has those little white spots too, apparently not snowflakes *smile* Now I know anyway after Stefan sent me some pieces. That's just beautiful Ed, really a great job.

That looks really great. Guess I'll have to try cabbing some of mine. I thought it was hard to shine. Trish

Super Ed! That is encouraging. After reading KD's post I have to ask if making that drew ANY blood?!? Inquiring minds (and grinder newbies like me) want to know! The one in the third and forth pics down I name it Lava Flow. Even if you don't want a name... you got one now.

Nope, no blood Joe. The first thing I did was to grind all the edges. That would be a good name, however, I'm giving these to my friend's wife, kind of an incentive to make sure he sends me more of this material.

Ok, that's good to hear, about the blood and all! Sure hope the friends wife likes them as much as we all will here at RTH. I still want more experience with the wheels before I try Obsidian. If I could just get the wheels to turn...

Come on Ed, enough already. I'm getting dehydrated from drooling so much.
Another beautiful piece. Luv it.
