I wanted to share the cab I almost submitted for April's cab contest. I personally like this one more than what I submitted (it's close though), but the shape made it really difficult to get a nice rounded dome. I really like this one a lot and wanted to make sure it got more attention before I packed it away (hopefully to be set in jewelry someday).

Yeah, that's pretty sweet! I'm stealin' your shape ... Thanks, and go for it. It's actually a John Heusler shape (slightly modified)

This one is really sweet. The shape reminded me of the Arabian palace dome top. The bands are so nice...

Wow! That's another real nice one. I've made that shape a few times but not with the bit of inside curve at the top. I like it better this way.

Not sure I like the other better, actually. This one is so nice. I like that shape. I've done it a few times, too. I call it sexy.

It's alright I guess... (Teasing! ) What's not to love about this cab! As mentioned, the shape is great...not only that, but the way you positioned the pattern within the shape is very well done! Out off curiosity, where did you happen to snag this material? There are none of the common "stress fractures" I see all too often in Crazy Lace (and cousins!).

Out off curiosity, where did you happen to snag this material? There are none of the common "stress fractures" I see all too often in Crazy Lace (and cousins!). Thank you! I got a nice chunk of this material from one of the people in my local rock club (rock auction). I finally brought it in to be cut into some slabs for this current contest. Unfortunately, the person cutting it made more cuts than I asked and only got 4 uniform cuts out of the 12 they made. It was heartbreaking... Another good reason for me to get my own slab saw when I can afford it. I'm hoping to find another good chunk of Laguna, but I've yet to find one I liked as much as this one.
