Can someone tell me what this material is? I purchased a tiny slab of it and would like to see if I could find more. It's another one I was considering for the April Cab contest. Thanks!

I was wondering if it might be Condor. I have seen some with these colors that were similar. If it is, I'm happy!

That's my guess too on this one! roQhound - Your polish is pro-level!

I have to give credit to the DP Nova wheels and my last step is just the cerium wheel on my KN cabber. I think making sure I'm drying between wheels to check for scratches really helps, but I'm really impressed with that cerium wheel as the last step. I thought I'd need to run them on a seperate polishing wheel like I do for bigger specimens, but it's been great so far!

Tbh that's a great cab but I'm also really impressed with the pictures you're able to take. A lot of times I find a high polish is really hard to photograph. Would love to see your setup!

Tbh that's a great cab but I'm also really impressed with the pictures you're able to take. A lot of times I find a high polish is really hard to photograph. Would love to see your setup! I'll be honest, it's all about understanding how to use the light to your advantage. I've done professional photography, but the pics I've been sharing have been taken on an iPhone using natural light (I do use the Lightroom app to correct exposure and color temperature but no other tricks or fakery - Im really trying to show them as close to how they look in person). I also like to use a white background because it showcases the rock, but mostly because it bounces some light back up onto the girdle. I just make sure that the light is at the best angle I can get, which can be challenging (or impossible) sometimes. It would be better and easier to have controlled light sources to light the cabs from the sides, but natural light works great if you can get the right angle and pay attention to reflections. If I was taking pictures for a book or publication, I'd bring out my good gear. I've actually had people online tell me that I should be using different lighting to showcase the rocks, but I don't think they understand I'm really just trying to take the best picture I can in the shortest amount of time with the camera I have on me (my phone), all without doing an elaborate setup. I do enjoy more serious photography, but I don't have that much spare time.
