So, there's going to be a gem & mineral show in Melbourne FL 17th - 19th. I'm working 17th & 18th, but off 19th & 20th, so wondering if anyone knows of any good public access places on that side of the state to go rockhounding?
Willing to go North as far as Titusville, South as far as Ft Pierce, but not looking too spend too much $$$ Basically just want to make it a whole day trip instead of half a day...

Well, since there were no replies, and no one at the show was of any help... I hit the beach just south of Cocoa instead & picked up some shells & a partial sand dollar And this one was still joined together. Sadly, I dropped it when I was trying to rinse out the sand and it separated. It weighs 7.94oz, with a shell that's about 1/4" thick

I don't know of any places in FL that are good for hounding. There is definitely not a Gem Trails book for FL.

Don't know much about FL, but this guy finds all kinds of crazy stuff down there. Maybe you'll find something on one of his videos

Sorry, but there are NOT rock hounding places in Florida that I know of. EXCEPT to look for fossils and petrified coral.
Found in rivers. The Peace River is known for sharks teeth, but that's on the other coast.
And fossilized coral can be found in the Suwanee river.
Sorry, I import rocks.
Your shells are nice. Maybe you should just enjoy the beach while you're here

Found several places "listed" to include chert, calcedony, Echinoid geodes, carnelian-red geodes, agate, agatized coral, ilmenite (mineral with an iron/titanium ore), Zircon, Staurolite, calcite, quartz, Rutile (crystalized Titanium Dioxide), Vivianite, minerals with uranium (appears to only be in Polk county), Malachite. Don't know which if any of these areas are accessible though....

These shells look great! Would be nicer if they are agatized...

I have a hard time believing that you'd find any on your list, except the agatized coral & fossils.
Patty... rockless in Florida
