I've got a HP SS 10" trim/slab saw that I've been slabbing this particular variety of Agate/Jasper I found at the local store. It's gorgeous, I'm planning on making some stellar cabs with it and probably selling the rest but that's months down the road. Right now I'm using the Thinline 10" blade that came with the saw and it's painfully slow cutting this rock. About 2.5" x 4" in size, it can take close to 10 minutes to cut one slab and the blade and water+borax gets very warm. Usually that amount of friction means the blade is dull but this material will re-dull this blade pretty quick after sharpening it with a bastard file. I'm thinking of trying oil to see if that helps this cut along quicker or if there's a different variety/better quality blade that will cut quicker. HP's blade is ok for most things but... (pun intended) it's not cutting it this time. Has anyone had any experience with HP's Agate Cutter blades? I know the kerf is ridiculously thick but it may be what ultimately cuts this bad boy up. I'm open to other suggestions for a 10" blade that cuts this hard material. - Rob
