It's not a lot to show for my shop time this week. (You guys who whip out a cab every 20 minutes - teach me your ways!) But the Burro Creek and the Petrified Palm Root I took from giant rough to slab and then to cab, so I'm kind of pleased with those. The Agate was from a dollar bin at a rock show this weekend. I'm glad I bought it!
I'm still learning to get decent photos, but the natural light seemed like a good idea. The leaf looked nicer than the dirty hood of my truck and it was free.
This one looks really banged up in the picture, lots of color variation in the black parts that look like uneven polish in a pic. I like how this rock looks in person, but still working on getting really good polish on it.
I was positive I'd lost this Burro Creek when I lost my grip on it during final polish. It flew across the room, bounced off of the water softener, and hit the concrete floor. I couldn't believe my eyes when I found it still intact.
This agate came from a guy's dollar bin of slabs at a local rock show. I was worried about the fracture in the top right, but liked the character and it looked (more from the back than the front) like it was healed, so I went with it. Time may prove that to have been the wrong call, but I like the character it lends the cab.

Great job!!! I can't believe the burro creek made it, either! It went for a joy ride. I'm a sucker for that palm root. It can be hard to polish, but worth it.

Nice ones ! I love the $1 agate-the druzy is perfectly centered ! But I really like the Burro Creek, glad it survived. Thanks for sharing, Patty

Couple things...I doubt any of those cabs could have been done AS WELL as you have them in 20 minutes...by anyone! I'll second what Tela said about the Palm Root possibly not being able to take a mirror polish. Mine is like that. (I'm blaming the material...not me! LOL) You hit the freakin' lottery when that Burro went kicking across the room! LOL I'd be willing to bet a dollar...but not more...that $1 bin agate is a Montana. I could be wrong...that's why I'm only betting a buck! LOL

It probably took 3 minutes of looking to hunt it down, then I had to take back all of my potty language! That's some stout stuff!

Sometimes all I can say for sure is that I bought a pretty rock, but it'll do! (But yeah, having handled it, I think maybe Montana too.)
