I was messing around up in Northern NM last weekend and I hit the agate motherlode - found some beautiful multi-colored agate with all kinds of cool inclusions, moss and plumes. OOOHAHA. Only had time to pick up a couple of rocks before the sun went down. I'll be heading back as soon as I can. This is my first attempt at posting photos with my new computer. These were photographed dry. Susan

How come it's called Coyote agate? Did you just howl with delight? Or is that a type of agate I haven't heard of (or possibly I have heard of it but forgot.....age is a terrible thing).

That's funny, Herm...actually, the agate was found in North Central NM, near Pedernal Peak. The closest town is Coyote, NM, hence the name. As soon as I shake this respiratory virus I have been contending with since the first of the year, I'll be heading back up there to collect some more...and KD, I will be spending the night! It's a long drive, maybe 3 1/2 hours. Hope to take the sandsman up there when he comes to visit! Next time I'll get some photos of the landscape and such. S

OOOHAHA STEFAN Hey, Sands - I forgot to tell you, NM also has some world-class trout fishing streams, some of the biggest fish I've ever seen up on the San Juan river, NE corner of the state. S
