First one looks like it could be serpentine.
Second looks lke copper ore. Copper minerals often look a lot alike and can be hard to ID without knowing original location they are from.

Thanks! I also thought serpentine, but wasn't sure because dry its black like obsidian. It only has that pretty pattern and color when its wet.

This is dangerous...I'm totally going against James's IDs! LOL
That first one looks like Velvet Sheen Obsidian to me. I've worked some under the name of Royal Velvet. I have some threads on here somewhere...

check the hardness serpentine is soft scratch with a pocket knife, obsidian should have the same hardness more or less than glass. my first glance says vegasjames is correct but the hardness will tell
