I saw a video the other day that ruby glows under uv light like that. rocks is a new/rediscovered hobby.
I will search a bit. Cause probably something else. Another alternative i found is red fluorite. (Exists in both white and red)
And calcite... Idk, hope someone can give a correct answer.

Almost certainly not tourmaline. Without doing lots of searching my guess is calcite in some form. Have you done a hardness test? Calcite is about Mohs 3 and can be scratched with a copper coin. Barite's another possibility I think.

But thank you, as I've said any and all information is helpful. I put an index card in the package with those rocks that have your comments, and in the future they will direct my investigation. When I first began this adventure, I would literally spend days on 1 rock, but I'm slowly learning not to do that. It's better for me to identify what I can and get that organized alphabetically. When I finish that, I'll get back to these samples. Oh! I saw you posted to my gold leaves thread....I'll get to my responses later tonight when I'm ready to settle down.. but the fish gave me the giggles I was like, are you teasing me??? lol

That's super helpful, but if it's too much searching please don't fret or do massive research on my behalf! I read a post the other day where Pat said something like, "we don't live in a UV world," and it made me chuckle to myself. So true!
