I think it's my error... so please let me fully explain. I have a very large collection I'm trying to identify because I don't know what I have and yes, I'm planning on selling most of. It's not that I don't want all of it, it's that I don't want 30# boxes of the same material. We only collect specimens for display. The lapidary materials part of the collection is something we have no use for, though we are keeping some of the really great full slabs. Believe me when I say the best of the collection is on a shelf or in a display case but the rest is more than I could ever display and don't have the knowledge to know where or how to go about selling it. I do intend to sell it, because that is the wish of the couple, as they invested a lifetime and a small fortune and asked us to do so. They owned a lapidary business and were/are collectors and were also selling it, but due to health and age, stopped doing it years ago. So, as a starting point I'm identifying, and as someone pointed out earlier, I put some on ebay, but only stuff that had prices already on them because I've never bought or sold the stuff before.
I'm sorry if I made a mistake by asking questions or competing or just made a real sh**bag move, I never intended to do that. I also didn't intend to say I was on ebay because I wasn't here to advertise or compete, it was seriously about getting help figuring out what I had, because I didn't know.
I'm starting to think I may have made a huge mistake and I have to apologize again. I'm sorry for asking potential competitors for help, and I'm especially sorry to you, as you've been extremely helpful.

I'm sorry for asking potential competitors for help, and I'm especially sorry to you, as you've been extremely helpful. You haven't done anything wrong. It's probably more a courtesy thing to let people know you're selling, particularly in posts where you ask for opinions on what people would pay (though if you're asking for prices, then you selling stuff is implied, and I think you did mention in another post somewhere you were planning on selling), but honestly, what you choose to disclose is entirely up to you. So don't worry about it

As was pointed out before, if you keep posting, you'll reach the threshold to sell in the selling section. I'm sure you'd be able to move a lot there.
I appreciate that you are apologetic, but really, you're fine. You got it. I think it's great what you are doing for the older couple.
