Hi, I remember reading about collecting staurolites beneath the Blanchard dam in Royalton MN.
Wondering if any members here have been there and what your experience was.
Furthermore, I am hoping to organize a field trip for my gem and mineral club to bring 15-20 people there.
My guess is the dam itself is private property but the river below should be publicly accessible.
If someone could give me an idea of who to contact to find out that would be great! I was thinking of calling the Royalton chamber of commerce (they would like groups coming to their city and spending money right?) but a club member told me sometimes its better not to ask questions to agencies that may not have specific knowledge /authority as they often tines give you wrong information or straight up lie.
In any event, id like to get the all clear before having people drive approx 5 hours to tge site just to get chased off!
Thx in advance, hope this gets some replies!

My rock club has been there, but I don't remember the details. I do know that most of what was found was not crosses, just pieces.
