True tri-flow has the mahogany orange streams through it that can include the gold sheen, then it is a predominantly black obsidian that also includes the transparent banding. I can picture it in my head, but having a hard time describing it in great detail. I’ve even found fire bars in that material. I’ve never heard of te-flow sheen, but I’m assuming it’s another name for the tri flow that includes the gold sheen in it. I would say it’s all the same personally

I am pretty ignorant about some obsidians. What is tri flow obsidian and is it different than tri flow sheen?
Tela, take a look at this webpage. It's a decent read...despite the use of "irregardless"!! LOL - Look at the last example on this page. I think that last one would be the "tri flow sheen"...obviously! LOL

Speaking of obsidian, ya gotta get some of this aurora borealis crap.
Tri flow obsidian is impressive. This is something else. The polar sky is stuck in a rock. I would love to see what you talented people can do with this.

Thanks for the tag, much appreciated!
We do have some tri-flow in stock. Its a pretty awesome form of obsidian, but also a pretty broad term. There isn't any 'true' tri-flow definition, and most of Glass Butte material could technically fit into the category of it.
We however were taught that tri-flow is when you have multiple pattern flows of mahogany sheen within the obsidian, with the best flowing in multiple directions. Its generally where the magnetite (gold and silver mahogany sheen) is visibly layered. Where Ash says they were taught that it is multiple types of Obsidian in one, we were taught that it's about the visible layers and pattern flows. More than likely, neither are incorrect and you'll actually see this A TON with obsidian due to multiple individual prominent miners. I guess it is also a given that in order to even see layers, multiple veins of destigisuable material must be present.
An example of a common one that ISN'T tri-flow but has a very similar composition would be Mecca Obsidian. Comparing this to Tri-Flow should help you to easily see the difference between the two.
An even cooler note; Tri-Flow can have so much awesomeness in it. Its the type that is most known to carry fire and red ribbon, and it can also carry rainbow. I've seen all of these present in the same stone, and it knocks your socks off with the amount of beauty present!
