I have bought 3 tumblers since starting this money pit hobby. Two 5 pound rotary Vevor Brand and one Chicago 5 pound Vibratory Tumbler. ALL of them are proving to be total trash. My opinion, DO NOT BUY THESE BRANDS. Unless you just want to work on them. It might make sense that some people get lucky and never have a problem, but they must be saving the junk crap for me.
The two Vevor tumblers "appear" to be good designs, and in some respects, they are great, but the motors are just underpowered junk and no way to fix that. The motors get blister hot fast. I have no way to know what the vibratory tumblers problem is, it runs 10 minutes then just quits, sometimes 15 minutes, and this last run, 53 minutes then just died. I mean seriously, WTH? Now I am wondering, is it something I am doing? They are all sold as 5 pound ratings but now I am wondering if they are really 3 pounders, or less?
Anyone have these problems, anyone figured the fix?
Thanks for reading.

Why did my great grandparents buy a refrigerator and kept the same one for 35 years? Because it was built to last. In the early 1900's, light bulb manufacturers were forced to cut their bulbs average hour span from 2500 to 1000 hours.
I'm afraid we're in a similar era here. You purchased 2 tumblers and both of them crapped out, spend the same amount of money on a single tumbler of higher quality brand and you should run into less stumbles
Sorry this happened to you, perhaps you coincidentally got defects, bad luck, or something shadowy.
I've been in a position such as this with goods from best buy, $800 pieces of equipment crapping out a couple months after the warranty fails. unfortunately for me, best buy is the real only place to buy some of these things on the market, fortunately for you, other tumbler manufacturers exist!

Now you tell me... Seriously, I have so many rocks that 2 tumblers are needed to do enough rocks to finish what I have in this lifetime. And now the question becomes, what are good brands that won't break the bank?

The Chicago Vibe tumbler is designed to tumble metal. I'm not saying it's not a POS anyway, Chicago tools are not known for there great quality. But you're using it for something it wasn't designed for. Rock vibes are heavier duty.
