Alright, here is one I could use some help with the ID. Found it cpl years back in the San Jacinto river. I initially assumed it was petrified wood when I dug it up. Then thought it kinda looked like bone. But the chipped areas don't seem to show any kind of pattern and looks like chert to me. It has a high pitched ding to it like alot of petrified wood does and there's a little nub on the bottom that I've seen similar on wood also. Anyhow, any help Is appreciated!

It has that rich brown colr and smooooth texture on the broken face. It is rich!

Or maybe some sort of odd plant that got preserved.
