Trims great, slabs... not so great. It comes with a nice sintered blade but only seems to slab well on things softer than a 7. The JaspAgate I'm working on will slick that blade super quick. I've got the vice attachment and it opens to maybe 3" so I'm pretty limited to small slabs. Has anyone heard of making a homemade gravity feed for this saw? I may just have to get handy with a chisel and hammer to reduce some of my source material so it will fit in that tiny vice. If I'm going to afford an actual slab saw, I need to start making pretty stuff to pay for said slab saw . - Rob

Or join the local rock club and use theirs.

Or join the local rock club and use theirs. Unfortunately while it's on their to-do list, they have not yet been able to set up a rock shop so I'm looking for alternatives. I've got a collection of slabs from estate sales that I can run off of for a while though. I'm going to see if anyone slabs as a service though at the meeting next week. - Rob
