Hey all. Newbie here. Live in PDX, just starting my journey. Actually been going through the forum reading posts comparing cabbing machines. Need to decide which one I should get.

Welcome from Virginia!
I have the Genie. The Kingsley wasn't available when I got it. If I had to buy one today, I'd get the Kingsley. I'm happy with my Genie, but the Kingsley has a few advantages over it- as I'm sure you've read.

Thanks everyone! Yes, I'm leaning towards the Kingsley North cab 6 nova, it is out of stock but will be available at the end of the month. The other option is the Highland park cab 8.

Welcome from Missouri. I have had a Kingsley North cabber for about 3 years now and it has been great.

Welcome from Central California! I love my Kingsley. The only other one I would seriously consider at this point is the HP. I always wanted an 8 until I started doing some inside curves. Now I wish I had a Pixie too!

lilraybug welcome from AZ, formerly from across the river in Vancouver WA First, the Mt Hood rock club operates a lapidary shop where you can compare things like 6 or 8 inch wheels and whatnot. My first setup was 8 inch until I used 6 inch wheels, they fit my style better. We will be vendors at the Mt Hood show in about 2 weeks, you should visit and meet some nice people if you haven't already. I use a genie, but am assembling the bits to build my own with the wheels further apart. If I was buying a new one, I would get the EZ Cab ![](https://res.cloudinary.com/rockoonz/image/upload/v1718154457/arrsvttgbrui1c4qg3x9.jpg)

Welcome! I grew up here in Washington but moved down and lived in Portland metro for over 24 years. Welcome from Washington State! If you want to go cheap and see what you like, I could recommend a 8" flat lap. If you get a wheel with the 220 smoothing and sponge you get similar results to a cabbing machine.

Thanks for the tips! I'll check out what I can find out about the ez cab! It wasn't one I had considered or looked into.
